On The Wings Of A Nightingale

“… a journey has just begun”

Iggy’s song pick of the day…

Thanks David!
My song pick isn’t even by David Bowie… it’s by the Everly Brothers and was written by Paul McCartney. For me, this song perfectly represents my love for music, the people who make it and it’s ability to transport and transform… on the wings of a nightingale.
Check out the video, it’s only 2 minutes and 22 seconds long.

“On the Wings of a Nightingale” is a song written and composed by Paul McCartney and recorded by the Everly Brothers in 1984 for their album EB 84, which Dave Edmunds produced. The video portrays the brothers rescuing a classic car from a junk yard, restoring it (in 35 seconds!), then taking it out for a spin. It is the most popular and recognizable of the duo’s songs recorded since 1970, and the final Everly Brothers single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

See you on the other side, David.
Your best friends,
Buffalo Tom, Gunther & Iggy

  1. Great tribute to David Bowie, and the perfect song to go with it. “On the Wings of a Nightingale” has been my favourite Everly Brothers song from the first time I heard it – thanks for posting it!
    R.I.P., David…he’s missed already.
